After putting a few miles under my belt in M5, I have started to notice a very slight wheel bearing noise from the n/s/f. It only noticeable with about 10 degrees right hand lock, and from 20-50 mph. Has anyone else suffered from wheel bearing failure at 35k miles? Seems a bit premature to me.

I will be booking it in to BMW for two front bearings. Any idea of cost for this work?

It's started.

It's not uncommon for bearings to go as early as that to be honest. Did you buy AUC or have a warranty? If you argue the fact its happening at low mileage it should be covered.

Thanks guys. I have booked it in today. The car is not a AUC and does not have a warranty (yet). It has a full BMW service history and I am in negotiations with BMW warranty for an extended warranty (not looking good). I am happy to pay for this repair as a "rights of passage" payment into M car ownership.

I have just purchased x2 front discs and Pads and fitting kits from Bmminispares.com, which I have asked BMW if they will fit for me. Does anyone have any idea what labour I am looking at for a front brake replacement.

Cheers

About an hours labour, no more. So about £100 to £120 at dealer rates (unless your dealer does discount for older cars like mine do).
