Just looking at E46 M3's. Was ideally looking for a lower milage car.

I've seen a nice car from a friend with the exact spec I'm after but with 81000 miles.

Should this be an issue/worry affect resale in 18 months time (commute of 30 miles per day)

This car is over £3k cheeper than a similar car with 60k miles

Cheers

Shouldn't be a problem if it's been taken care of properly.

Friend of mine has 145k on his with no issues.

Not much difference between 60 and 80k so certainly worth saving the money. Bear in mind that a clutch and 4 tyres on the 19's (if using the proper Michelin's) is £2,000 so ensure that you are looking at the whole car including its maintenance history and not just the spec.

I wouldn't worry about it at all, especially if its £3k cheaper than a similar car with 60k miles.Mine is on 78k and feels every bit as good as it did with 40k on the clock. As already said you need to look at where the car is at on the whole not just what is on the clock.

When and what is the next service, how good are the brakes and tyres etc and most importantly the overall condition of the car as this is the best indication of how well the car has been looked after.
