BMW M Value Servicing
Discussion
I've just received an email from BMW to tell me that Value Servicing has been extended to cover E46 M3s and E39 M5s. The prices seem reasonable (albeit more than most decent specialists) if you're inclined to keep up your FBMWSH or need to for insured warranty purposes.

Doesn't look any cheaper than I pay now for my Z4MC (which has the same servicing as the e46 M3).
Don't forget that it's up to the individual dealership as to whether they offer the value servicing or not. Same as the FourPlus scheme that seems to have stopped, although some dealerships are doing their own scheme - yet still seem as expensive as other who are not offering the claimed 20% discount.

I knew the oil service was a rip, but s
t me, £170 for literally an oil change.

Thats actually very reasonable. The oil alone would cost you £90 from Opie. Add to that a filter, any other minor ancils and an hours labour.............

They've gone UP since I last looked at dealer servicing for an E39 M5.... so am not sure where the "value" kicks in...maybe the cakes and coffee have improved ...Personally I'll stick with my indy and pocket the difference thank you very much (approx £60 on the oil service, approx £150 on the Insp 1 and £200 on Insp 2)...

Just for the record, I had my M5 looked after by a trusted Indy and wouldn't go near a BMW dealer. However, there are a few E46 M3 & E39 M5 owners out there who may well want to keep the FBMWSH going for their extended warranty or resale values, that was my point.Personally I'll stick with my indy and pocket the difference thank you very much (approx £60 on the oil service, approx £150 on the Insp 1 and £200 on Insp 2)...

Guys remember the dealers won't be putting in 10/60 to the E39 M5's......it's no longer the oil BMW spec for the E39 M5!
There has been some speculation that only the early E39s should use 10/60, and the later cars with the modified piston rings should use 5/30, but I've never seen any confirmation of it. My dealer always puts 10/60 in mine, which is a later one, and it hasn't caused any problems.M5Dave said:
