Wanted E46 M3 CS
Discussion
Afternoon All,
I don't know if this is against forum rules, if it is Mod's please delete, I'll not be offended!
I am on the hunt for a low milage M3 CS with the following spec;
Less than 50k miles
Full service history preferably BMW - running in service essential
6 Speed Manual - very important.
Black Nappa Leather
Heated seats
Sat Nav
Bluetooth & phone prep
I am a cash buyer and looking for a CS in excellent condition for daily use. Exterior colour isn't a major concern but I would prefer the blue. If you are thinking of selling yours or know of someone with one that fits the bill please get in touch.
I am not a trader nor am I someone trying to source a car for someone else. I just promised myself one of these and I now have the means to fulfil that dream!
Many thanks in advance!

Great choice. I'm loving mine.
Having had a couple of normal M3's over the years, I took the plunge and bought a CS last year. My main concern was the lack of multi function steering wheel, but that quickly dissipated when I drove the car. I travelled well over 1000 miles looking for a CS and eventually found one that had BMW Warranty.
I too, would take a manual over the SMG and if I could've found the right car in Interlagos, I'd have bought it in that CS specific colour. As it is, silver grey is a good compromise colour.
The driving experience of the CS is absolutely a step up from a cooking M3. The steering is definitely more direct and the alcantara wheel feels great (when cleaned up and not sticky!). Brakes wise, it doesn't feel too different to a normal M3, despite the larger front disks.
Good luck with your hunt and I'm sure you'll find the right car for you.

I quite fancied an Enzo, but I soon realised the cup holder was too small for my favourite beverage...

When you do 15-20k miles a year, things like cruise control etc are a consideration!

I've seen CS's advertised as having cruise...
Looks to be a reasonably simple exercise to retrofit...http://www.m3torque.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1827

What are the differences between the M3 and the M3 CS?
-Larger drilled and ventilated disc brakes (as used on the CSL)-More direct steering rack (CS 14.5:1 vs standard 15.4:1)
-M Track mode - basically a button on the steering wheel that increases the amount of slip the stability control system will tolerate before it intervenes
-19-inch CSL type alloys
-Steering wheel and the handbrake lever are trimmed in Alcantara and there is a bespoke 'Alu Tec' metallic finish to some of the surfaces

An excellent post from the chap on M3torque but to be honest I never really missed cruise control on my M3 CS; moreover, with my DIY skills it would have taken me longer to do the retro fit than the time the cruise control would have spent engaged in my entire period of ownership (which was over 4 years and 60k miles!).http://www.m3torque.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1827
