Good luck. There are lots of cheap cars about, not so many nice ones.

A work colleague had been looking for one and after 6 weeks and seeinig about as many cars he's now got one. Not perfect but it's been properly maintained, not crashed and badly repaired, not got cigarette burns or badly repaired stone chips.

Just got my new to me black one... it's my second after a couple of years without. Massively underated cars albeit they benefit from a few mods that they should have left the factory with!

There's a very nice example for sale at Hollybrook Sports Cars here in NI (very well regarded trader who usually specialise in Pork). Just a £40 flight and a £100 ferry from Dublin-Holyhead away? The drive from Holyhead to Shrewsbury is worth the trip alone...

Another one? If you fancy an M3, that has been used as it was designed for, then I'll be getting something new in the summer hehe

Hollybrook sportscasts har a lovely black one, call Matt or Trevor there, they did have a lovely blue one too... But you can't have it I bought it ;-)

Pm me for details they will do you a good honest deal, I will go back to them again.

Also, the travelling was really easy.

Flight from me from Aberdeen, they picked up my taxi bill to the garage, then larne ferry back to cairn Ryan, but you can also do Dublin to Liverpool if your heading south, coat about 100 quid I think.

Hello AndrewD, Has she test driven one? Not the easiest car, unless of course she has another car as DD. Rather prone to bunny hopping as a very sensitive throttle, even worse when sport button is pressed.

Recalcitrant gearchange from 1st to 2nd, my wife couldn`t drive ours smoothly at all. If she likes it though then she`ll love it, make great second/third/fourth cars looking at your garage!

She used to own one and would now like another one - but you're right - not a straightforward car! We saw one yesterday, but it's overdue a service by 1500 miles which worries me. Drove ok and ostensibly seemed in good nick but gear changes seemed a bit harsher than I remember - may be I'm out of practice or may be the lack of service/ being driven ...? Think I'm gonna keep looking and drive a few more.

I would have another one but only now it wouldn`t be a DD. Seem remarkably good value at the moment. My wife jokes it was like sitting in a dentist`s chair and that the car gave me a case of the Emma Freuds and a dodgy hip. Properly quick little car though!
