Evening all,

I thought I'd better formally show my face in here before I start posting the inevitable "My M3 is broken, help!" threads...

I decided that I need an M3 in my life a few months ago. Bought a techno violet Evo convertible in January that turned out to be a big mistake, it had been messed around with in various ways and looked set to be a moneypit. Luckily I had bought for the right price so managed to sell quickly at a small loss.

Then I went down to see another M3 which had been advertised on eBay as "mint". Having learnt from the previous one I went in with a critical eye. Sounded like the right kind of owener and it had a lot of work done but when I got there I found that the rear arches/boot had been appallingly sprayed- The filler on the arches wasn't even properly sanded. Avoided.

That Friday I'd seen an ad appear on PH. Very limited in detail but having called the seller it sounded like a good'un. The seller wasn't keen on negotiating on price, quite understandable given the massive interest he'd clearly been getting.

So here I am- 1999/V Evolution convertible. Full service history, 2 owners, 109k on the clock, virtually every option other than parking sensors and including a very nice Pioneer navigation/ipod/cd system.

The car was filthy when we viewed it, the owner had been doing huge mileage commuting from Surrey to Telford and hadn't had a chance to clean it before we got there.

Had it valeted on Saturday and it's immaculate. Virtually unmarked exterior and decent interior... So far I have fitted 2 new Continentals on the front and it's due for an oil service/checkup later in the week!
