Hi,

Can anyone recommend/suggest a BMW M Main Dealer service centre that they have been particularly pleased with?

I've taken out the BMW extended warranty on my E46 M3 which I understand ties me to the main dealer network.

My local dealer is Stephen James Blackheath who I'm not completely convinced with.

Don't mind a little bit of travelling but would prefer to stay in South/Central/East London areas.

Thanks in advance.

Harold Wood Sytner in Romford seem pretty good. Better than Enfield and Stevenage IMO.

Cheers for the replies.

I would prefer to take it to an Indy but it has to go to a Bmw main dealer to keep the extended warranty valid.

Can anyone else recommend a decent main dealer in the London area?

I've heard Park Lane are good. Aren't they the only dealer that is actually owned/run by BMW and not franchised also? Must count for something.

I had my servicing (as do 99% of CSL owners) done at Murketts but that's in Cambridge. Shows how far people will travel though for service they trust!

They're all using Elms of Cambridge now, as the Murketts staff have moved to Elms.

Indeed! My service is approx 5000 miles away but I'm already thinking of where to take it!

Will check out Park Lane.

If somebody is still looking.. i had seen a question somewhere on PH about best service place in London for M cars... cant find it anymore so coming back on this one.

Well I had mentioned I had tried both Elms and Battersea (essentially very close to each other) and had had not exactly positive experiences with neither.. I still had to report back on BMW SytnerChigwell where I went last time for quite a bit of work done on my M3 including major service, small repair work .. etc etc.

Well honestly.. have exceeded my expectations. Did a good job first time round for a MUCH better price than either of the LDN BMW service centres. They had forgotten a few bits and pieces (only negative of the experience to be honest), when car went back (Central London free pick up) they rectified pretty much everything and went beyond what I had requested for no charge at all and actually managed to get BMW to fork-in for some repair outside warranty period.

As usual with these guys you just need to be EXTRA detailed on the request, having them write down every single item and check on the phone BEFORE pick of the vehicle that they have actually attended to all points.. but if you do, at least with Chigwell the result is there and the prices highly competitive.

I would really highly recommend.. you feel these guys fight for the business as opposed to the central London guys who just wait for the hundreds of police cars to come in for repair.. and the cash-rich Londoners dropping in with their executive cars.

AOK

Not sure whether you need to call the Sytner Service booking number, or Canary Wharf direct, but they run a free shuttle service to harold wood. You drop the car off in the morning (8.30am) and it is taken to Harold Wood for the service and a valet, and brought back to the Wharf for 6pm collection. Booking was about 3 weeks in advance as they only take 2 cars a day.

Whether this still operates i'm not sure, but it was the case about a year ago!
