Anyone done this? Might need to reduce the fleet soon, love the Cerbera and its one of the most sorted around, smiles every time I take it out, but getting less time due to work travel...
Anyone made the switch??

Not quite, I used to have a 4.2 AJP8 cerbera, and now have an e92 M3.

In a lot of ways they're quite similar, both engines were very characterful, very free revving. They both like to stick the tail out if you want. M3 is far far cheaper to run, and more reliable. M3 is also a bit (but not much) slower.

The M3 does everything the cerbera did and more, but is more reliable and cheaper. AT the time the cerbera was great, but times have moved on.

Thanks, was also think about the M3, don’t think either car will have the same sense of occasion as the Cerbera. But my use maybe changing, i could not leave the cerbie at the station or airport, but i could with the m cars...

The M6 is not a cheap car to run if you are planning on doing a few miles in it, it is a very good GT car though with the exception of the range which is terrible (fuel economy of a jet fighter + a small tank) I nearly traded it in after 3 months but now going on 3 years with the car I'm glad I didn't. The gearbox is well off the pace of a modern double clutch box but the V10 is still a great engine. Do buy one with an extended BMW warranty because it's relatively good value (certainly compared to Audi) and some things are very expensive to fix (remember this was a 90k car new with bills to match)
