What do you think?

I just can't get the video out of my head of the M6 absolutely trouncing the M3 on the M6 board forum. Always thinking ahead, icant think of anything worthy to replace my M6 with that offers me the same bang for buck, looks, refinement, adoration etc.

What do we (M5/M6 owners) move on to next?

M3 is better for track driving but still a good GT-car. The new maserati might give you bigger virtual penis but likely it is not even a better car.

To me you seem to want just to refresh your self. So buy another car as track toy. Some small mid-engined thing. Better still, rent and test different cars couple of weeks and then go back to your m6 and make the call(buy or not to buy, change or not to).

I had the Same dilemma after selling my M5 last January. I looked at a lot of other cars including TVR, E90 M3, Audi RS4 and M6 but went for another M5. They are a great all rounder and the V10 is to die for. I don't think I've helped what so ever but good luck.

The M3 is fabulous, but far less so coming from that V10.

Why not just continue to enjoy your beast?

Im in the same boat. I concluded that it might be best to just try and enjoy the V10 rather than waste time looking for a car that'll beat it. Fact is, there arent many that offer the same experience for less than double the value.

Having had the V10 for 3 years (E60), I am LOVING the V8 (E92). Not quite the outright blistering pace in a straight line, but much more 'enjoyable' overall. And, mine being a manual, I'm not missing SMGII one little bit.

Similar to above, I had a 480bhp RS4 for 6 years. Love the E90 M3 in all sorts of different ways. Not as quick in a straight line, but far better in many other ways. I have now got some money in my pockets too!

I think the E9X M3 is the pick of the bunch.

The V8 is a peach and preferable to the thirsty V10 and more than adequate for fast road driving.

It's also lighter, smaller, wieldier and more practical and better looking too. The only thing it lacks is the exclusivity of the M6 and the extra 2 cylinders if that bothers you - in the UK it's almost superfluous and more suited to top end autobahn antics... if only.
