M6 strange issues

Hi all,

A friend has an M6 and today it randomly started having the following issues:

Transmission and abs failure on i-drive
Heads up display flickering
Speedo needle dropping to zero then coming back alive.

I'm thinking battery or alternator, or does anyone know of any specific problems relating to this. Thanks

1st thing to check would be the battery...gizmo laden modern cars seem to be very sensitive to voltage drops and an old battery may start to give issues like this long before its bad enough not to turn the starter motor.
