Unfortunatly I need an inspection 1 service, brake fluid, MOT carried out on my Z4m coupe. Car is garaged over the winter and only used in the summer. Mileage 7k.

Local dealer best price £760 pounds.

As I'm a tight git. Do you think this price ok ?

From a main BMW dealer, seems reasonable, take just shy of £55 out for the MOT (assuming they charge that), and you're at £705.

Yep - that's a reasonable price from a dealer.

I imagine you could halve it going with a well respected independent.

Thanks for that. Does the inspection 1 include replacing the radiator fluid? Does that still need to get done?

No, coolant is not changed on inspI, iirc they check the level and concentration of the coolant and advise if it requires maintenance.

Thanks Scott for getting back to me so quickly. Wish you all the best in your new venture and I'm sure it will be a success. You just need a new sign wink
I think as my car is fairly low mileage I'll stick with the dealer stamps for servicing/inspection 1 for the mo. However if I need any work done outwith the service I'll know where to come.

Can't believe my car which has covered only 8k miles failed it's MOT with a 'severe leak to the rear passenger strut. 5 day wait on part.

you're supposed to use it... 70K miles and no leaky struts...;)

BTW 2.5k from its second time thru Insp I - so ta for price checks, need to put a few pounds in service saving account.

I've had a number of BMW's. Never had a car fail on a strut, springs on my M3 which is quite common, they usually crack at the bottom. I just find it a bit strange. It can't be common as part is on back order.. Is this strut carried over from the CSL, or was it just made solely for the ZM coupe?

It's bespoke made by Sachs.
