Hi
I'm looking to purchase a new/delivery miles M3 very shortly and thought I would pop in here and see if anybody had any advice?
Are there any must have options I should be looking out for. Looking at the classifieds there seems to be some delivery mileage cars around £51K and then some others with 5000+ miles going for £55K+ it's difficult looking at the specification sheets to see exactly where the differences are???
Any help appreciated.

The usual options mentioned to look for are Competition Pack, EDC, individual audio, DAB, USB connectivity.
To be honest the values are plummeting at the moment so don't but one on resale value, buy what you want and accept you'll be giving it away come trade in time! Not that it bothers me, the E92 M3's are great cars and well worth every penny.
Let us know what you go for.

I can only generalise by saying all dealers are offering huge discounts and incentives on new M3s at the mo. You can even prob get a better deal by buying brand new than a few months old. Bargain HARD.
Agree with this. I ended up leasing mine and can honestly say I can't see how they are doing anything other than losing money on the deal.Pugsey said:

+1 A mate just bought a fully loaded brand new M3 with a list price at just over £64k - He paid just over £51k. He bought it last week , so just before the end of the month which probably got him a little better deal.

Looks, nice and good spec. Mineral White is a nice colour.I'm going to look at this one at lunch time today, http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3822533.htm
Mines a bit older but was stickered at £42k and I walked out with it for £35.5k. The fact is that if a dealer gets an M3 that could sit there for 3/4 months off their stock they can probably shift 4 or 5 320d's with a decent margin with the same capital tied up.
Is this the first E92 M3 you've driven?

yep not driven one yet!
Sounds odd but you might be a bit underwhelmed! It didn't actually feel as special/sports car like as my E46 CS and felt a bit like a 335i. I found it to be a car that just gets better the more you drive it though so just make sure you get a good long test drive and don't write it off after 20 mins in 30/40mph zones!. I feel the Sport button (throttle map) really makes a difference to how the car feels.

I spent the first half of my testdrive pootling along and thinking something like "nice comfortable seats, but it's a bit underwhelming". And then we got to a bit of open road and the salesman encouraged me to take it up 8k rpm.
Deal closed, job done.
A year in, and it just gets better and better the more I've got used to it.

Bottom of the market has actually firmed up in the past month. I've been following m3/m6 prices closely (on PH) and M6's have dropped by about 2k and just aren't moving, were as a friend bought a 30,000 mile decent spec m3 for 21k 4 months ago, you can't get anything near that without starship mileage now!Well I have been to have a look and the car looks much nicer in the flesh than it does in the pictures, and the interior looks better also, which was a pleasant surprise.
Booked in for a test drive tomorrow, I'm not expecting star-ship performance, in fact I'll be pleased with some low speed manners and a quiet cruise, as that's what I'm looking for. However when the opportunity presents itself I'm hoping opening up the taps on that V8 will put a smile on my face.
The car I am looking at has a retail price of nearly £69K and its up for £52K, that's some discount!!!
I also found myself sniffing around an M5 in the showroom so I am going to take one of them for a test drive to!
Thanks for the replies

this for me will be the acid test, I still like my GT-R so these M-Power machines will need to be quite special to prize me out of it.
GTR vs M Power will be very interesting, please feed back! No where near the shove, but I can't help but LOVE the manic top end of the NA V8. Did you see the Harris video of the F10 M5 vs GTR? Might give you an idea of what to expect when driving that!AndyBrew said:

Hi mate, are you enjoying the Scud?re the M3 - i drove a DCT and found it ok but it didn't blow my socks off like i thought it would. Go drive a C63 coupe - speak to James Smith (07751 866763) at Derby Mercedes and AMG dealership, Pride park, Derby
