Ok then
Just been to bruntingthorpe to give the m5 a blast befor
the up grades are fitted.
As from the title you seen the car did 178mph.
It was a tad busy with motor bikes.
Only had time for 2 runs in each mode.
The fueling is a tad rich in 400 mode
and a little better in 500 and 500s modes
But due to the motor bikes being to slow at top end
i had to back out 200 to 250 yards where the tarmac changes
so at least 180+ is possible.
Its now time to start fitting the mods.
And as far as i no this is a standard car.

Take a look at the results, probably the most reliable collection of top speeds at Bruntingthorpe.

Hey bud, hope all is well, gutted I missed the last few Vmax events!Take a look at the results, probably the most reliable collection of top speeds at Bruntingthorpe.
To OP, 178 is exceptionally good.... I beleive I actually hold the fastest M5 (or any BMW actually) top speed there at 189
But there were some serious mods to get there.... http://www.vmax200.com/results.phpWas the 178 on the radar trap or on speedo? I think 180 might be tricky for a standard V10. The problem is we shift into 7th gear as we get close to the trap line and drop our RPM from the shift. An extra 1/4 mile would make a huge difference for us V10 owners.... Glad you enjoyed the event though

It was on my race logic. It was the vmax it had recorded. To OP, 178 is exceptionally good.... I beleive I actually hold the fastest M5 (or any BMW actually) top speed there at 189
