Hi all, have been considering a Z4M coupe (am test driving one later this week) but I've just been offered a 2010/60 e93 m3 (dct) in Melbourne red with <10k mls. High spec with an original list price in the late 60s. Been offered the car for just under 39k. Does this seem like good value ?

Edited to add: I realise how different the cars are (z4m vs e93 me). Only reason I'm considering the e93 is that it may be a very good deal ?

Very different cars.
Z4M feels faster and is more involving drive.

The v8 M3 is more remote and heavier... But has a v8!

If you need a practical car and a v8 then get the m3

If you want an event then get the Z4M

Hi there!

I don't think it's a wise move paying almost £40K for a two-year old, red M3, even if it is low-mileage and high-spec.

You would have to bend over come resale time for sure!

I take it that's a dealer price?

How about this for comparison.....

Hope the link works!

Alas, you could buy a new pre-reg E92 manual avec EDC for £38k in Q1-Q2 2009. Now with DCT+Comp, about £44k should be achievable.

Thank you sir... Link worked.

For choice I'd much rather have a coupe w/ competition pack, but I haven't really been keeping an eye on prices so have no idea where value is. Hence i was being a bit lazy with the post. The cheapest late 2010/early 2011 cabs seem to be £41k+.

In fact, the more I think about it, my choice of the V8 M3's would actually be the saloon (in facelift guise). Point taken re being bent over come resale time, and I never keep cars long enough to justify the depreciation, so probably best to pass on the red one!
