After some thoughts, opinions always appreciated.....any horror stories out there, any current owners, etc...
Cheers,
Matty

Perfect spec - just extremely expensive, even for AUC!
What do you think it's worth, I would be looking to get a small chunk off the list price if I went for it........I've decided I want to get in to an M3 (used to have an E36 M3) so I'd be open to options and can stretch budget a little higher if needed... today is going to be spent searching I guess!

Cheers,
Matty
Going by what you've said in your GG thread, and you being able to stretch your budget,

Decent buyers guide over on Cutters:
http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=285...
But that price is insane.
Really tidy sub 50k mile e46 M3s are going for around £11-12k from traders, that's practically CSL money Sytners are after.

This car was previously damaged Cat C but has been repaired perfectly any inspection welcome.

Still mooching around, found a couple of potentials....

and

but came across this, interesting? Obviously a CAT D, but what's the cons on it? never really delved in to it before....

There's a few others that are around the £20k to £22k mark but are also CAT registered.... I'm guessing stolen/recovered?

^^ That Estoril 'vert is georgeous and well specced (the nice to have hardtop & stand).Buying from an enthusiast is always said to be better than some randomer, especially with a car of this nature.

I've been in contact with the owner, he's sent me pics of the history, the VIN so my mate at BMW can check it out and said mate will come with me to give the once over....so hopefully I'll be parting with cash the weekend if all stacks up.... ) the consumables, servicing & warranty costs scared me off. One day though! That looks like a goodun' & I would say 'post pics', but there are pics in the advert.

a nice one for 11-12k???? Not so sure about that, maybe multi owner cars with non main dealer history???
I picked up a one owner from new example which had been back to Sytners for everything from wiper blades to a clutch for just under £11k early this year. The car is as tidy as they come, is pretty much fully specced and had new RTAB, newish discs / pads and a set of Michelin PS2s with 6mm all round.
Came from an independent trader local to me.
You might see them advertised at £13k & upwards, doesn't mean they're going to sell for that.
