Could anyone please tell me if the early E92 M3s (2007/8) came with a DVD player as standard, or which package this was included in?

I suspect it might be for the satnav, but would like to know for sure whether it's standard and if so, if you can actually play film DVDs on it.

a good question - I have a 57 plate.......and the TV package......and i have no idea.

Sorry - never tried it!

I suspect though it is for Satnav only......i'll try tonight if you don't get an answer by then

Hi.
I believe the pre facelift (before 2009?) do not have the DVD video capability (DVD player is for Sat Nav maps only). Facelift cars can definitely play DVD video.

Cheers.

Great thanks, so DVD slot in dash is standard, but doesn't play DVDs on the early E92 M3.

Just wanted to check as I saw a car with the DVD slot but not advertised as having a stereo upgrade.

I own a 2007 E92 M3 and I can confirm that the DVD slot is only for the satnav disc. I tried a couple of movies in hope, and surprisingly the system doesn't recognise the format. biggrin

I don't think you're missing out much though, it only works when stationary (although sound still works) - I prefer to drive the M3 rather than sit still biggrin

Not bothered about watching the DVD, just wanted to know whether the car I was looking at had a stereo upgrade. smile
