Has anyone else's been running hotter than usual during the recent hot weather? Mine is and I wondered if it was due to the ambient temperature or if I have an impending issue!

How hot?

I would expect the gauge to be dampened, so if its showing a different temp there may be an issue. possibly with the sensor itself

Not a sensor as had readings confirmed by a plug in machine, was sitting at 97 degrees instead of normal 83. Coolant is fine, it's just had inspection 2 service last week and has been running hotter ever since.

Thanks Defcon, it's booked to go back in on Tuesday so hopefully nothing too major.

if you've just had inspection 2 check your oil level. probably topped up over the max mark on dipstick, this always caused my oil temp to run a little high for a while afterwards.

On my 330 it was a stuck thermostat, once changed was fine.

Thanks guys - it's in today so will find out hopefully.

I also had an issue with the EML coming on and the car dropping into limp home mode - this was identified as a broken coil pack clip that had fallen off and fouled the throttle assembly...
