My car was an AUC car last year and I can see the service history is straight. Its telling me it needs spark plugs and a vehicle check done, nothing else, no oil or anything.

Reading Eddie's guide it talks about a major service being plugs, oil, SMG fluids etc. Oil is a 7000 from needing changing at the moment.

My car seems out of sync with this, how does this happen and what am I likely to need, just plugs or everything listed under a third oil change.

Not particularly worried as to which it is, service and fuel costs are a fair exchange for driving one of these things in my eyes

Thanks in advance

Regards
Fred

Idrive will say one thing but its what's stored on the key that matters. A dealer will tell you exactly what's needed and when. Idrive is only a guide.

Cheers Eddie, so they don't really know what needs doing until they get the car then, or is it advisable to drop by before hand to let them check the key.

If it helps, mIne had a spark plug / vehicle check service at the beginning of the year. 3 months and 3k miles later the engine oil was changed, along with the diff and SMG oil and air cleaner element.

Yeah, best to pop down and see. At that point you can try to negotiate cost too as many dealers do deals for older cars to keep customers. The servicing is all down to car useage and fuel consumption so you can never tell.

'm old.... I don;t beleive in plugs being changed every 25000 miles! Maybe I'm sad... I still do mine every 12,000 regardless

I know what you mean, we had something for the wife a few years ago that was supposed to do 60k on a set of plugs. It was well exercised and at 30k I decided to change the plugs, they were a sorry state.

I've only had the car since December and it was sold as an AUC car, I've only done about 4k since and have just been enjoying it. Its up to 36k now so I'm quite happy to do whatever is necessary.
