Off to France tomorrow with a 600 mile journey to do, took the M Funf out for a spin last night and the windscreen wipers completely stopped working.

Is this a simple switch/fuse fix, anyone else had something similar?

Check the retaining nuts on the wiper arm and also the linkage.

Fuse would also be another good thing to check as well, years ago my wipers stopped after a visit to dealer... found out a few days later !!!

Some mechanical halfwit had removed the fuse... I'm guessing to use on another car... Complained to the dealer made them physically fit a new fuse and pay for the fuel and my time as they were 56 miles from where I lived.

Thanks Seesure, where's the quickest place to source a fuse?

You might have some spares in the fuse box.

Not sure if you fixed this?

If you haven't its likely to be the big brown relay at fault. Search online as there is loads of detailed info on swapping this out!

He has probably sans wipers :-) Sometimes it is just a case of turning the car off and on again to allow a computer reset. Rain sensing wipers are a bloomin' waste of space. They may be acceptable when the car is new and under warranty but after that they are just an additional headache.

Indeed I have, thank goodness the weather has great. I managed to take the car into a specialist before I went but there diagnostic tools didn't pick up any issues.

I'll have a look into the relay switch.
