Picking up my new BMW M6 this weekend!
Discussion
Evening all!
After 12 months of looking and debating what to do. I've decided to take the plunge and finally buy myself the car I've wanted for a while. The car is an 05/55 M6 Coupe - spec is Silverstone with matching Silverstone leather (my ideal combo)
The car has done 45,000 with full service history and only needs abit of money spending on it to tidy the wheels up and get the drivers seat bolster coloured in again, this doesn't concern me at all - only small jobs which I will do straight away.
Due to pick it up this Saturday and will have an almighty 4.5 hour drive back up North in it (don't worry the vendor is filling the tank for me)
Just wanted to know what peoples thoughts are on these things nowadays as I see them as immense value for money - ill only be using it at weekend so fuel consumption and running costs aren't a concern for me.
P.S is there an AUX port in the car or will I have to make do with an FM transmitter for my journey home listening to my tunes?
Thanks

Silly quetion, but I assume you've HPI'd it and made sure it's not a ringer? These sorts of cars are often stolen to order.
Keep it garaged!
Sorry to sound like your mum.... enjoy the experience and earth-shattering performance
Haha yes that's all been done - buying off a chap who's owned it for 2 years and has all the history there - but yes have HPI'd it too!Keep it garaged!

I will do - had an M5 before but I have always wanted the M6 (better looking sibling I think) no doubt some will argue differently!
Thanks
E60 M5 for 3 years and 50k miles, had my M6 for 12 months. I loved the Q car nature of the M5 and it was a great car. The M6 however is quicker, has significantly better fuel economy (not sure why), and has a much better interior. It also stands out more than the M5, especially on the continent where it always attracted interest from people, and is a real GT in the proper sense. I am sure you will love it.

To go ever-so-slightly off topic; for those of us that can't afford to buy and fuel an M6, the early model 630ci (check the performance and fuel figures, you'll be pleasantly surprised) and 645ci are stunning value now, I'd gladly put my money into a nice manual 54 or 05 example.
When I had a gander myself you can pick up some very well priced 630 - 645! Alot of car for the money!!ecain63 said:

Saw an 645 in the street yesterday.
Sounded brilliant!
My father in law just chopped in his 54 plate 645i for a new 640d. He'll miss that V8 grumble for sure as the new diesel is silent as a mouse.Sounded brilliant!

I'm interested in an M6 myself, how are you finding the car after your first month of ownership, everything you hoped it would be?
Hi,Believe it or not I have the car up for sale - I've spent a lot of money on it to get it looking outstanding - had little bit of bodywork, all the wheels redone and the interior detailed so the car is now spot on - and mechanically which is always the concern with these cars it's A1. I have been asked to go halves into a business venture with someone and it does make much more sense financially to do that rather than run a V10 coupe!! Haha
To be honest, I'm in love with the car it's ideal in every way but with this proposition that has just popped up I'm finding it hard to justify the car sat there! It isn't a sales pitch and I'm not concerned if the car sells or not - but it is advertised!
The car itself is amazing - power delivery is relentless, sounds great (especially on downshifts) and is a lovely place to sit! Fuel consumption is always going to be scary but hey that isn't what the car is about, would recommend buying one of these all day long, fantastic value for the money!!
