Hi there
I've got a problem with the tyre pressure monitoring system on an E46 M3 in that its always red no matter how many times I try to reset it.
The fault occurred after having all 4 tyres replaced - is there anything that the fitters could have done to make the system faulty?
If I follow the reset procedure as shown in the handbook the light goes out but comes back on - red - a couple of seconds later even if I dont move off.
And then I get a beep from the system every time I start the car
Thanks Andy

Similar thing happens for me.

I just visit a garage and do the air in the tyres and after a mile or so hold the button down and it resets.

it always comes back on after giving it a few beans though driving

I assume it is a sensitive sensor...

if that helps can anyone tell me why my filler cap keeps flipping open?

If a tyre pressure monitor system is fitted to a car from factory it now falls under the new MOT regs that were changed a few months back so it will need to work for the MOT test.
Twice when i got a screw in my tyres my monitor said low pressure and sure enough the tyre was at about 10-15 psi and managed to limp it home slowly and get the wheel off and take it to get the puncture repaired so they are useful, saved me wrecking 2 tyres on my M5 and not having to get recovered due to no spare wheel on the M5.
