Picked it up on Wednesday and what a fantastic machine it is! Blue with black wheels.

Had a gentle mostly motorway/dual carriageway 140 mile drive home which was ideal to assimilate. There are lots of buttons and functions which really do take a bit of understanding. I really wanted to alter the steering wheel a little but daren't incase I pressed the ejector button by mistake. First impressions; love the HUD, probably did about 22 mpg, good ride and great seats (non-active).

Two days on and that 22mpg can mostly be ignored. Little things like the auto-dipping headlights, which really work, impress. The power and delivery is awesome and more like a top-end motorbike (for many years had a 200bhp 220kg plus rider ZX12). Big things, like the gearbox, is truly awful. Maybe it's not working properly or maybe it's me, but so-far, it is spoiling my enjoyment when it's pushed. Work in progress.

It's certainly a rare car in these parts and much admired. I've not had a car for a long while that I just want to drive for fun!!

Re: gearbox: what settings are you using? The auto mode (Drive) is very bad, but in Manual and S5 with a tiny lift of the throttle when up shifting I find it very good.

Manual S5 with power button on is my default choice. Slight lift when changing when pottering around. Don't lift if I'm flat to the floor going through the gears and it flies. Other setting is M button on, MDM on, S5, EDC normal. Nowadays on our roads and where I live I haven't had a chance to test S6, DSC off mode. Awesome car, had mine over 2 months now and its pace never ceases to amaze me. It just eats up A roads, dual carriageways and motorways. Not really a car you can chuck around in tight turns and roundabouts though but then on today's roads I very rarely have that opportunity. Love the fact it's supremely comfortable as well. Also find it interesting people always comment that the V10 lacks torque and is best above 6000rpm. Yes, agreed it's great above 6000 rpm but there's more than enough below that in my opinion to make very fast progress. Great value cars at current prices.
