Just got a 55 plate M6. I've been trying unsuccessfully to find a thread here: There is an IPod lead in the glove box. How do I get music to play using this lead? I'm trying with a fairly early IPod touch. Thanks.

Go to I drive, Entertainment and choose any of the sources?

At least this is how it works in my M5 but it does have the USB and aux connections, rather than an iPod lead, so may be different.

It's through cd changer options as iPod should replace 6cd unit.

It plays tracks via playlists, so for example if you want to play an album you need to make a playlist in iTunes first that contains all of the tracks then copy that playlist onto the iPod,

I have an 06 plate Z4 with an iPod lead in the glove box.

To use it, I have five playlists on an 2nd generation iPod Nano named:
BMW1_*, BMW2_*,... , BMW5_*, where * is a name of my choice.

Buttons 1 to 5 on my stereo play from the associated playlist, and 6 plays from either all 5 or all music on the iPod.

I have tried to use this lead with a new iPod Nano, but this wouldn't work.
