Haha...funny you say that...first spirited drive Oil Level Indicator, PING!!

Topped up a couple litres seems ok now. Should I be seeing about a litre per 500 miles or so?

Steady on. Check the levels again. 2 litres seems a bit much. From "empty" on the dip to "full" on the dip is only 1.25 litres. Try not to overfill.

Also, make sure you check the oil following the owners manual as there is a specific procedure to follow....

Also make sure you check your oil check, then get someone to check their oil check of your oil check, then get someone to check their oil check of their oil check of your oli check, then get somewone etc etc etc etc.......

Oh.....and don't forget to check the oil.

Ouch, 7,000 miles no oil required. Didn't realise the pre-face lift cars just poured oil out!

Don't know about "pouring it out"...am just meaning I have been advised by a few folk to definately keep an eye/ top up then if need be, as this apparently can occur.

Loving the advert sitting alongside this post - its all about oil and how the price has dropped. Good skillage at piston heads

Keep a litre in the boot as soon as the light goes on and it pings for a top up, stick the litre in, then buy another one. I used to do 700-800 miles a month in mine. It needed a drink once a month.

Got to know the guys at specialist cars in Stevenage pretty well as a result!

Excellent advice. always have a litre of 10 60 in the boot. Not many garages stock it.
