Spoke to the owner earlier who seemed very genuine and knowledgeable

I know it's more expensive than many others but seems very well looked after and got some nice mods for track days.

I'm not looking at road use at all just track days and at some point poss racing.

I'm really looking forward to getting back into the track day scene in the UK again after living abroad and actually running our own days in Spain and am keen to get any opinions on the car and the mechanical mods.

Looks cheap for a track prep'd car, and expensive for a road car.

How much extra would you need to spend if you want to go racing in it?

Not sure how much would need to be spent for racing. Obviously cage and fire extinguisher but apart from that I need to speak to a race prep company which I'm planning on doing today.

That's only a possibility for the future though, my main concern now is the mods that have been done, are they sensible ones that benefit the car with quality parts or not. My thoughts are yes it seems to be well done.

Seems interesting but I would want to ensure it has been professionally put together. Maybe it is just me but with all those parts changes, I would need convincing it isn't going to fall apart!!

I'd agree with this. A lot of the value of the car is in the road mods/condition - which would be superfluous once you start stripping it, caging it and setting up for track.

The diff and the brakes are nice and the Gaz Golds are reasonable kit for the price. It's clearly had a fair attention to detail paid to it, although it hard to value a lot of the mods second-hand.

Personally, I think it's in too nice a condition for what is essentially, a fast road car. Cost wise, I think that you'd be better getting a more focussed track-prep'd car that won't be including unnecessary road condition/parts in the price or getting a standard road car for half the price and building a track car to your own spec.

Depends on your budget really. If you want a sorted fast road car that can do the occasional track day, then it looks ideal. If you are more interested in tracking and racing, then it may not offer the best bang for buck. I think that it would be a shame to dismantle what sounds like a sorted road car but it's your cash at the end of the day.

It's only had bolt-on mods, it's not like Bernie & Leepu built it

My only issue is that a lot of the track focussed cars I've seen are even more money and the road only ones are thrashed high milers.

I am not that interested in doing the work myself and would rather pay a bit more for one thats had the basic track bits done for now.

I spoke to the company that has serviced the car and done some of the mods they said its extremely well looked after by the owner.

I will see for myself tomorrow!

How did it go?

That car used to belong to my mate, who did most of the mods to it.

It started off as a nice road car, and he did the APs, Gaz Golds (which have since needed a rebuild, I believe), the wheels, the diff, the steering wheel and the seats.

I've got a pic of it trying (and failing) to keep up with my M3 round Brands somewhere

Nice car, but too expensive in my view.

ETA - actually, he took the APs off before he sold it, hence the Wilwoods on it instead. That diff ratio on a road car gets very tiring very quickly, too.

Yep its now mine!

Actually very very impressed with the car. put it up on lifts at xsport racing in Basingstoke and had a good look round.

Bodywork v good, tyres and brakes like new and just had level 2 service.

Drove it on the road and seemed very tight and together but who knows I'm no mechanic!!

On the basis it cost me almost exactly what it cost to repair my 2nd gear syncro on my GT3 a few years ago, when I had the cash for toys like GT3's and no young child!!! I think its a load of car for the money.

I know there's cheaper ones out there but the work seems to have been done very well and as I intend to keep it for a good few years I'm not that worried about the price so am really looking forward to getting it on track soon.

Just now looking at getting cage welded in, interior out and some harnesses and quick release wheel to ease access for my 6'4" big frame!!!

Yes am not sure on the stripe myself but I do like the green on the other car!
