Met a great chap at PHSS who had an awesome looking Z4 M Coupe, with RPI Exhausts - which sound epic, for those who don't know.

It appears they are fairly rare item but more importantly expensive at £600. It also claims to be an alteration of performance (+8 BHP or something...) which at the age of 22 does wonders for my insurance...yikes

Anyone know of a cheaper alternative for my Z4 M roadster that doesn't affect the performance but sound nearly/as good?

£600 is actually cheap, think Eisenmann would be twice that!

Some people have had good results with Hayward & Scott, which may be cheaper.

Any mod you declare has the potential to push up your premium, or make it harder to find an insurer to quote.

Whether it adds performance or not will be of no consequence to them.

..And an Akrapovic (if I could find one for the Z4M, which I can't) probably twice that...

The only cheaper alternative would be to go custom. I'm sure an exhaust shop would be able to fabricate one for you for less.

Or just drop the top. Better in every way.

I'd forget an exhaust and get the gruppe-m intake instead... Growl.

The chap wanted to spend less than £600.

IMO the gruppe intake isn't worth the cost but if you've got the ££££ for a exhaust and IK it would make any Z4M sound like a monster
