Hi all,

Just bought a 2005 M6 in silverstone blue. Initial impressions of the car are very good, amazing performance when wanted but also extremely comfortable as well. I was also pleasantly surprised by the 24 MPG achieved on the trip home.

Not sure if I'm as impressed by the logic 7 stereo as I thought I would be, maybe need to play around with the settings. Maybe my ipod is the limiting factor? Any tips?

Should also add that in my opinion the SMG 'box is a lot better than many people would lead you to believe....

Great purchase.

Pics?

Where in NI are you?

Get onto NI-BMW.co.uk or are you already on there?

It's this one from the classifieds -

I'm in Co.Antrim. Am a member of BMW-NI but rarely been on there until now. Was at the meet at Carrickfergus Castle a month or two ago, seems like a decent turn out for them...

Logic 7 is normally excellent. Try fiddling with the settings to see whats what, also your IPod audio output settings.

I would say it's OK - but that's about all. I was expecting good things given the reviews before I bought my M5 but despite no end of tweaking the DSP settings it's still not all that. You can get booming one note bass but the mid-range is very dry for my tastes. I use lossless files on my iPod and I think Logic7 falls some way short of the other premium factory fit options from other manufacturers. The best by far of the car systems I've heard lately was the Burmester system in a Panamera - awesome. I tried to find a car with the Individual Audio option but that turned out to be very rare.

Stu,

Havn't had the need of a BMW Indy yet. Ask on the forum. Though I have high regard for Simon Chambers at Beechill garage (www.beechillgarage.co.uk) as a mechanic.

I was at the Carrick meet to in the wifes Valencia Orange 1M.

That was my old car. Nathan bought it of me in 2011 for a very good price. I miss that car so much.

I bought mine new in 2006 , picked it up at the factory and only sold it in August. Great car overall!. As for the stereo, I set it in concert hall mode and it seemed to be very good.

I had it delimited at Hartge the day I got it. A week later I had 2000km on it and did this, flat out........

Amazing how much the fuel gauge moves in that clip. Goes from full to 7/8 in 3 mins.
