M5/M6 or ActiveHybrid 5 and AM Vantage

Hello everyone. I am new and hope you can help me with a decision. Its actually a very strange one, but circumstances are making such that the 2 choices I have are as follows: I am trying to decide on a new car or new cars. Either an M5/M6 new. Or a combo or a Active Hybrid 5 and a V8 Vantage. The Hybrid I would probably drive 5/6 days a week and the Vantage only 1-2 times a week.

One one hand the M cars are the best everyday cars and just excellent all-around. On the other, I would be able to get a dream car in the vantage but potentially be spending most of my time driving the hybrid.

Would very much appreciate any thoughts or advice/experiences.

thanks! thanks!

Though great cars the m5/6s are, I'd be going for the two car option if only to have a nice change of scenary for the weekend....something to look forward to.

Ive driven a few f10s now including the m5 and in the daily grind situation, they all feel pretty similar to be honest!

I'd go for the 2 car option.

It's hard to beat that feeling when you jump in your sunday/weekend car after driving around in your sedate barge for the week. M5/M6 great turn of speed but you're very unlikely to get up in the middle of the night to go and check she's well tucked in, like you would with the AMV8.

1 car for me. Life's too short to spend most of it in a car that's no fun!

A few on here have gone from M5 to Aston, and I think the opinions are mixed. If it's one of the early AMV8's then they're not that quick, certainly compared to the M5/M6. depends how important outright performance is to you.

I don't buy the argument that the car isn't special - I think only those who've not owned one would say that. I'm always looking for excuses to go for pointless drives and using the 10 mile backroad route to the supermarket when the direct route is about 2 miles away smile

However having said that the AMV8 is one of the few cars that can sound as good as the V10 and a lot better at idle.

Thank you all -- your perspectives REALLY help me get perspective too!

Aeroresh -- yeah, I was just worried that the AH5 would be a boat relative to an M5, but you are right, they would likely be about the same in daily commuting. The idea of the M5/M6 is just so appealing. But, yeah, probably day-to-day, little difference.

Babw -- haha, yes, the look of am AM, even in a garage would be nice!

StuH -- that's exactly my worry -- that the AH5 would just be too sedate everyday. The V10 sounds amazing. What do you think of the new V8s?

Also, what do you guys think of the AH5 in general? I read a bunch of mixed reviews?

Thanks!
