PDC problem & water ingress

Parking sensors went on the blink a few days back so had the car in at the dealer today to investigate. Apparently the PDC gubbins were submerged in water! Any idea how the water would have gotten in there? Apparently the PDC control unit needs replacing - is this something I could source cheaper myself? Had a quick look on bimmerparts but couldn't see the gizmo listed.

Bummer. Does your car have a sunroof?

If so it could be the drains within the shell of the car. U under warranty??

Yes, saloon with sunroof.

Thanks for the post - I have full BMW extended warranty, judging by that (design fault?) it looks like I have a case for that to cover it.
