Estoril blue - colour wrap
Discussion
I've been considering getting myself and M3 E93 convertible.
I would be looking for a used car either 08 or 09 plate.
Having looked at piston heads and auto Trader for months now I've come to the conclusion that I'm not overexcited by the colour range.
I have previously owned 3 E46 M3's, the first one back in 2001 in Phoenix yellow with black leather, the second one was velvet blue with grey leather and the last one was Estoril blue with grey leather. As you can see they all had interesting colours ( I fully appreciate not everyone's taste, but different/interesting nevertheless).
I know that Estoril blue is not even an option under the individual package any more, but I still fancy one in something like that sort of colour.
Has anyone out there have any experience / seen something that is close in a colour wrap? It's just that the cost isn't particularly great and I could be tempted to go that way if it was feasible.
I might even consider Matte Blue if the colour was close.

Thank you, I looked at quite a few colour wrap websites and spoke to a couple of companies at a show back in the summer. I'm really looking for anyone that might have been able to get something close to this colour.

I should point out my m3 is estoril. I love the car but the colour pisses me right off.
no that is strange, have you fallen out of love with the colour, or just found a car with everything right but the colour - I did that with phoenix yellow many years ago, Then ended up liking the colour at the time. Looking back on it now definitely not the best coloured car I've owned.JetskiJezz said:

I went with Interlagos Blue as it was a M colour in M3/5 and 6 and it suited the car aswell. Looking different in certain conditions, purple/navy and was oem.
Another nice colour would be Atlantis blue, but sure how close you could get that in a wrap

Ady,The car I'm looking at is currently finished in Interlagos blue. my concern with it is that in some liked it can look truly fantastic, but on a dull day it just looks like a flat dark blue (no offence). I have a Mazda MX5 in a red metallic which has exactly the same effect, bright day the car simply glows, on a dull day it just looks like a dark crappy red.Another nice colour would be Atlantis blue, but sure how close you could get that in a wrap
When I had mine resprayed some mates spend ages looking at it (maybe cos its was a breadvan lol) but the colour changed as it was summer and then dusk settled into the night IB to Navy to a Dark purple colour, love it. Heres before and after...
Interlagos has a mix or blue and purple in it.. my next car will be M6 IB with Saddle brown leather.....thats if I can find one with it as its been nearly a year since selling my Zed and looking......

Those after pics make me want to go out and get a z3M coupe now.
Not just me then. These threads are dangerous, starting to think of a respray in orient blue, possibly my all time favorite BMW colour. IB however does look the danglies. *must not look in classifieds, must not look in classifieds*

My plan for the e92 is matt smurf blue. Someone in the states has done this, I quite like it.

I was quoted £1200+vat to get it done by one of the better wrappers.
I've spoken to a few companies in terms of costing for this and somewhere in excess of £1000 seems to be the right sort of price. It really does depend on who you speak to and what vinyl company (supplier) as well as what finish you want Matte looks to be more expensive than a metallic.

What does a decent respray cost these days?
I'm looking to avoid a respray, the costs would be ridiculous to do it at the right level including all of the door shuts and bonnet/boot areas.I also think re-spraying a car not only costs, but devalues the car, or certainly makes people very wary when you come to move it on.
At least with a vinyl wrap you can fully remove it if you want to prior to selling it - on that subject has anyone had experience in removing a wrap successfully?
