Got in my car just now M5, have an error message...

lighting system

Control lights and possibly turn indicators, fog lights, full beams or headlight flasher defective. Stop vehicle, check and continue.

I can confirm, no indicators, full beam, flasher and no interior lights. Headlights are working though. I'm 100 miles from home and need car daily and for the journey home on Friday.

FFS grrrrrr

Any ideas?

Cheers

That'll be the light control unit. When I had it, the problem was intermittent and only rarely did any of the lights ever stop working. Headlights and indicators never stopped if I recall correctly.

The unit was replaced by BMW in my case.

Did you manage to:
a) Get home safely
b) Rectify the problem?

I got home ok. Car is in and the light control unit is stuffed, would have been £600 without warranty. Shame I chose £250 excess

lol. Make sure you switch to zero excess at the first opportunity.

How does one do that with monthly payments?
