Is this massively overpriced or a sign that prices for good E36 M3's are on the up?

I do love the E36, but by God that steering wheel is ugly.

I doubt prices are rising across the board but there is always someone willing to pay a premium for a low mileage one in good condition.

I'd happily have one again, but not for that much.

If the e30 M3 is anything to go by then most E36 M3s will remain around the £3000 to £5000 mark for years to come before any real price increases. Mint, low owner, low mileage will always command a premium but with the recession the way it is E36 M3 prices are going nowhere. Hopefully the majority will get used and abused as trackday cars etc or broken for parts so in a few years the decent ones may eventually increase in price. I mean how much can an E36 M3 actually and realistically be broken for at the moment, seeing as an ok one with a dinted side went for approx £2300 on ebay recently?

I'm sure the low milers will be worth that in the future but doubt many buyers at the moment at those prices. Munich Legends have had a few 'top end' E36 M3's but I dont think i've ever seen one at 4 Star which is unusual given the volume of BMW's they turn over.

I've had 2 E36 M3's both bought for less than £4k, both were great and didn't require much aside from the usual braided clutch cable.

This thread sent me off to eBay for a browse where I uncovered these 'cheapies';

Both bound to need some money spent on them but I prefer cars at this level that you can drive and improve at the same time without being too precious about them.
