I don't get flashed in mine, and the auto headlights seems to keep main beam acitvated for most of the time during the murky winter daylight hours.
The auto levelling doesn't prevent the beam being too high, it just adjusts the beam according the attitude of the car so if you are cresting a hill you are less likely to dazzle oncoming traffic. If the beam is too high then it will remain so.
There are plenty of tips on google and YouTube on how to get the basic adjustment right.
I fitted 55w HIDs in the place of the OE 35w and these need careful adjustment.
