How much for a Mondial Warranty for a 60k + E60 M5?

Anyone currently have one? how much are you paying and what process did you go through to get BMW to approve the warranty request and apply it to your car?

If you go to http://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/ and input reg number and mileage then select the type of warranty and excess, BMW will quote

I pay about £115 a month for the named component warranty with £250 excess. It's served me well with a £5K claim just gone through for SMG Box.

Similar for me, its much cheaper if your mileage is under 60,000 - and i cant see how they can check - so may 59,000 would be better?

i believe its half the cost if its under 60,000 miles when you sign up - and that goes on for the duration of your warranty!

I just got my M5 back today, a new thermostat cost £560 to replace, i ended up just paying the £100 for the investigation, plus the £250 excess.

Annual cost is around £2.3k per annum if you are over 60k miles when taken out.

Depends on the excess and which one you choose. I have yet to work out what the major differences are between driveline and comprehensive.

As said mine is 115 a month or £1380 pa.

I just ran a quote through again for the same policy as mine and it's gone up considerably!

£1824.51 per year or £167.83 each month

Full whack is £3k if you're over 60k miles. Not worth having at that price IMO.

Is it also cheaper if you're renewing a pre-existing warranty?

I'm on yearly below 60k miles and it's about £700 for comprehensive with £250 excess. It's had a BMW warranty since the manufacturer warranty ran out!

Good point. I got a letter saying mine was coming to an end with a special code and they did it at a reduced rate.

£3K is not worth having? I've just done that in the first few months!

No doubt, however I bought a car that had already had the common major issues rectified.

Warranty work is also done at full price - you can save quite a bit through a specialist.

Defo worth it in my opinion. I sleep sound at night knowing its there but i only pay £94 a month fully comp with no excess. The new owner of mine will be treated to the same figure and cover which is nice. If the cover youre looking at is circa £3k then i can see why youd be sceptical about taking it, it really is a tricky one to weigh up.

To put it a different way: £3k a year and you may not use it. Thats a £3k loss which sucks! But, dont pay £3k a year and you might need new box like Contigo or new wiring like me (cira £2.5k+), or new shocks (not uncommon), or Vanos replacent, or other stuff. Soon adds up even at an Indy. The good thing too is that if you have the cover you dont have the worry of finding a decent indy. BMW will fix it and they will be liable for the quality of the work, regardless.
