Looking at BMWs 0% deal on M5, it seem its worth buying new over used, this goes against what I've always thought, especially on high depreciating vehicles.
Used examples are around 55k, new with 0% is around 65k.
This makes used ones too expensive?
Can further discount be had on 0% deal?
If ordering new what options other than 20" wheels should be ordered, without going silly.

This messes with my head too. Buying used at 55k makes no sense at all. Will be loads of cheap cars around in 2.5-3 yrs from now when they all come off 0% deals but not sure I can wait that long so still giving the 0% deal some serious thought.

remember the ones for sale at 55K, would not have sold new for 65K.. they'd have sold for 75K+ with the specs on them.
Once you spec out a new one on a 0% deal, you'll probably find it'll cost you a similar amount to a used one over a 3 year term (factoring in the 7.9% interest on used).

so wont make much difference either way - used one means you get the car tomorrow - new means you sit around and wait for 3 months.

Dropped my M5 off for its 2nd service this morning.

Nice looking M5 performance edition in the showroom, but listed at £96,090!

Difficult to see them shifting it at anything close to that price considering the deals they are offering to shift the 'standard' car.

If you're referring to the blue one at Elms, that's on their website advertised at £79k IIRC.

There's deals to be done for sure, but given personal experience, I wouldn't be confident I be getting the best one from that particular dealer..

I'm thinking taking up BMW's M5 offer. What you guy's think to this spec/colour combo -

Monte Carlo Blue. Standard 19" rims - possibly painted a shade darker (i think i actually prefer these to the 20's!). Sakhir Orange trim. Privacy Glass.
Not a combination I would choose!

There's a Matt White one at Woods Hampshire in Hook, great spec but the colour is all wrong on an M5 in my opinion

Brave leather choice, I like it. Let us know what deal you manage to get if you go for one, I'm tempted!

That's the one - wouldn't be my choice either.

Great colour combo! Something I would definitely go for. I prefer the 19's as well to be honest. The alloys do look a little darker in those photos, I think I would get them painted a slightly darker shade.

Was that leased through a business or was it private?

Thanks Terry. MC Blue cars have an extra 5mm travel on the accelerator pedal smile

simon909 - leased through the business. VAT reg sole-trader so no BIK. I tailored my leasing by paying a larger upfront/1st payment, followed by 29. Paying an extra 3k upfront also reduced the 'total cost of lease' by a few hundred quid too. I've basically done a 12+29.
