Red leather interior query.

Carbon black, Steel grey or Silver grey with red leather are good colour combo's imo, that car has been 'for sale' for quite a while, some of the tat that's been applied to it, the Hamann badge, eyebrows, yellow calipers, window tints and roof spoiler are all turn offs imo. The mileage, at 64K miles, also makes it rather costly to add a BMW insured warranty to it, the RAC warranty advertised with the cars probably isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
This looks like a much better buy, only 1 previous owner, ~20K less miles all for an extra £1745, less than the cost of a quality leather retrim. No brainer imo.

I agree about all the tat, and the plan would be to remove as much as possible (I assume the tint film can be removed by someone who can remove the glass?)
I did see the other one you linked to. Looks nice but after owning a black Mk2 RS2000 (back in the day) and swearing no more black cars, I then bought a black RS500 a few years later. Loved them both, but I did say never again - too hard to keep looking good!

As the owner of a Black car I know exactly what you mean, the Interlagos blue car make more sense than the SG/red car, although it does have that 'abortion' of a rear spoiler on the boot lid and 'hushpuppy' grey interior (definitely not a fan of either of these), but on balance I would still prefer this car to the SG/red car, based on what in the adverts alone.
I must admit I find the grey interior drab as well. Give me boring old black leather anyday.
TBH, I need to get something soon or it won't be worth it as I may soon (well, 9 months or so) have enough for what i'm ultimately saving for. It maybe best to give up on the CS and get something like:

That CS has been for sale for ages. The interior is fine. The stick on stuff can be removed. Whether you like it or not, the lack of sat nav, Harman Kardon and bluetooth will affect resale and how quickly it sells.
If Imola red leather isn't you, then there are plenty of M3 owners who'd swap it for a black interior. Alternatively, buy a full black interior off ebay for about £600 and get the same back for the red. I've done a few in my time, and a full interior swap takes a couple of hours.

I had a phoenix yellow one with kiwi (yellow) leather. The general consensus on forums was that it would never sell come resell time. Sold it twice inside 2 days. (First guy left the deposit, then said he couldnt finance it, put it back on...)

Looked at the CS today (the James Paul car has gone unfortunately). The car itself seems fine, once the chavvy stuff is taken off.
However service history book shows something like (from memory):
Running in 1380
Oil: 14K
Inspection 1: 26K
Oil: 38K
Inspection 2: 57K (carried out at a Saab dealer - Inspection 1 ticked on service book, tippexed out and inspection 2 ticked. Okay, could be genuine mistake....., but, why would you take your M3 to a Saab dealer for the inspection 2?)
Oil: 63K
Car is now on 67K, but shows next service due in 1K
Other than service book and last MOT, there is NO service / maintenance paperwork.
I'm still tempted to get it and get a specialist to carry out an inspection 2, but I get the feeling I should just walk away.
