Gentleman.......

Trying to purchase a new M3 with the standard £1000 service pack which covers 50000 miles or five years.

My question to you clever chaps is this.......

I want to know what the service costs are likely to be after the service pack ends in around 3years time when I have done 48k

Six dealers are all struggling to answer this.

I know the cost for brakes is around £600 per end and brake fluid is £100 and engine oil £350

So because of conditional servicing what are likely to be other costs?

I have a TVR t350 which is simple...... Chuck 2k at it once a year and hey presto!

Please help OB1

It should be just menu service pricing I would have thought.

I bought one of the pre-registered M3's in 2009 and ran it for 3 years without a service pack. Apart from the price of the original 1,200 mile service being high, I thought servicing costs were reasonable. I seem to recall one being sub £500 and one service being a bit more than £500 - but certainly would be a lot less than the TVR.

Mine is now nearly 4 years old and owned it from new, so far I have spent just over £800 on it excluding MOT. It was last in the dealer about 4 weeks ago as I will need brake pads in a few months, basically was quoted £350 per end but I'm putting that cash towards AP's as the brakes are like chocolate on these cars and not sure how a M car can be fitted with rubbish like these.

Your oil change is easy, buy the oil from Opie Oils and give it your dealer and you will save £100, your dealer won't like it but tough.

Another question to your question..

I thought from memory cars over a certain age ie 3 years have fixed price servicing bracket, or is that only Merc that do that

I usually or never take out the SP as it usually equates to the same sort of cost, don't know if I could keep a car that long that's all

But with an M3 you I'll never get bored with it, but would suggest selling it after 3 years as they can guarantee the market value long as you have kept it in the agreement terms.

Thanks

It uses CBS so things are usually done separately according to the IDrive service indicator but the oil should be changed once a year IMO.
Basically the oil and brakes are M specific but the other filters are basic E90 prices unless they fancy adding M Tax.

You need to compile a list of individual prices for the plugs, air filter, oil, ect and work it from there.
