Does anyone know EO04TZT ? It is an AUC car from a main dealer, apparently lived in Essex before they took it in...

Also, any specific issues I should ask the dealer to check before proceeding ? Have asked them to check the sub-frame for any signs of problems. I assume the SMG pump is covered by warranty.

Was a little surprised when the dealers seemed a little surprised at my request to check that the tyres were matching/approved.

Any feedback welcomed!

I wouldn't just take the dealers word that the subframe/boot floor is OK. I'd get it inspected by an Indy who knows what they are looking for.

Thanks for the reply. I figured the sub-frame would be covered by the AUC warranty and/or the bodywork warranty ? Also I've booked a slot at my local BMW dealer to inspect it when it gets delivered (before payment is made) just in case.

I'm sure BMW would fix it, but personally I'd want to know if it had cracks before buying it, rather than having it sorted after purchase given the scale of the repair. So far as I know the boot floor is not repaired under the AUC or anti-corrosion warranty but is a "good will" gesture only by BMW. There are '04+ cars that have been refused repair by BMW and they will still be within the 12 year anti-corrosion warranty.

I'd ask the dealer if either warranty would cover you and get it in writing if they do.

I see you've posted on M3 Cutters too. Find a dealer on there who is familiar with the problem as some don't even know what they are looking for (or don't want to find anything!). There have been several threads were someone has been given the all clear by a main dealer only for an indy or other main dealer to find cracks.

Interesting that 04+ cars have been denied repair... The car is being delivered tomorrow but haven't paid for it yet, as I want my local BMW dealer to do a thorough inspection first. They're going to look for the problem and have identified it on a number of cars already.

Couple of minor issues: the car has an extra 1600 miles on it (vs the original advert) as the dealer was delayed in collecting it from the previous owner. Secondly, the drivers side bolster looks quite badly worn and may need to be repaired. Will wait until I can see it tomorrow before making a final decision.

they have been refused because the dealer is a wker or the car isnt standard.

get on cutters.

Car finally arrived yesterday, not quite the immaculate example that I was expecting...

Need to decide whether to keep or reject... Feels like it may be back to the drawing board!

Make a list of what you require in order for you to feel the car is acceptable and give the dealer the list you may be surprised..........

A second years warranty is usually easily negoitiated if you havent already done so...............

Yup, that's what I'm doing, good advice!. 2nd-year warranty already part of the deal (great minds...) but I have a feeling the dealer is gonna push back on whatever price adjustment I ask for. Already been told there is a lot of interest, blah blah blah.

Subframe being checked as I write this, will be interesting to see what they say... Although it seems the rear bushes will need replacing as a preventative measure anyway...

I'm in the market for a 03/04 car at the moment so would be very interested in what you felt wasn't up to scratch? Might give me a few pointers for things to check myself.
