Bloody Hell. Seriously, bloody hell.

What a complete monster! Does anyone have one or driven one?

The power and the roar is just outstanding.

Was lucky enough to get a lend for the weekend and I think I now want one. Goodbye X5, hello M6.

Nice bits of kit, but is the roar you hear the fake one over the speakers?

I would love one myself so much, because if I had one gripe about my M3 it is the lack of low down torque & that wouldn't be an issue in a M6! I bet it was awesome to drive cool

I didn't actually.

Maybe I should have relaxed more. I just couldn't get over the power, so full attention was on the road and not the speed, or anything else! cop

You can buy the previous shape M6 for £20k's now - the one being referred to in this thread is still £60k+. Both are very cheap for what they are, although I'd imagine £20k M6's are heading for a world of pain as at that price, it'll start to be bought by people who won't be aware of just how expensive they are to run and maintain.

Has anyone noticed the synth'd sound? I haven't and I've had my m5 for almost 2 years!

You don't notice the sound as particularly 'synthesised' but, from inside the car it doesn't really sound like a typical V8 - it's just, erm, 'different'!

From outside it actually sounds quite good considering it's turbocharged (a lot louder than you expect given how quiet it seems inside). It's not quite as raw as my Jaguar XKR-S or as distinctive as any of the AMG's though. Still, none of them had quite the combination of low down grunt AND accelerative top end thrust - it's a very impressive drivetrain.

The sound is closer to the v10 of the e60 than the ordinary BMW v8, once it goes into the higher rev range. In the first few months, I'd get the window down just to check that it wasn't being piped into the cabin by the synth doodah.
