what is the thought of most on putting induction on one of these
every car ever had has had induction or performance filter with good results normal pipercross and this goes right back to mk1 escorts
been looking at part numbers and the e46 m3 has same air filter as standerd as rest of e46 range and e36 range which i would think would not be doing the airflow much good
before i get rid off my e36 m3 which has a pipercross induction on it thinking of trying that on the e46 which i would think sould be a big help has anybody else done this or is everybody leaving the e46 standerd

not a waste of time, the Evolve Carbon setup gets great results, the cheap stuff won't work with this, you need to spend at least 1-4k for a decent intake setup. A gen M3 CSL carbon intake is around 3.5-4.5k IIRC

So in other words the cheap stuff IS a waste of time

The point where it becomes worthwhile spending thousands on carbon air intake mods on an S54 will never be arrived at on the road. On the racetrack you`d have had to spend upwards of £10k on chassis/brake development and driver training to even make it worthwhile then.

looks like keeping it standerd but do like the rasp of an induction under the bonnet

Carbon airbox is worth it for the noise alone IMO
