Just looking for a bit of advice, how do you confirm if a car (E92 M3) has remaining warranty that can be transferred to a new buyer? Should the seller have some sort of contract or letter confirming this?

Yes, I have a confirmation letter with Reg, chasis and policy numbers and an expiry date

Also, a policy book, with a transfer of ownership form at the back

it means nothing.....

policy is taken out blind by BMW and only on examination of service recoird and car is there any confirmation of cover. The letter just means he has paid and there is a policy (on that date) subject to all service records and coditions.

Best bet is to take the letter, call Mondial and ask if it is still covered, if any claims have been made and honoured, tell them the service history to make sure it is all ok.

Otherwise you buy at risk
