Cheap BMW novice trackdays
Discussion
I'm more of a TVR man myself (and my X5 isn't suited for the track!), but thought I'd post this up in case it was of interest....
BMW UK are running some track days with Club MSV /BMW Car Club. They are for novice trackday drivers only (maximum of three previous trackdays) and for BMW's (and BMW Minis) only.
Dates etc...
08/04/2013 Bedford Autodrome Bedfordshire £49
01/05/2013 Brands Hatch Kent £49
05/06/2013 Snetterton Norfolk £49
29/08/2013 Cadwell Park Lincolnshire £39
More info here: www.clubmsv.co.uk/bmwontrack
At £39-49 they seemed seriously cheap sessions! (Edited to add they are evening sessions, not a full day)
May not be the right place as you M Power boys are probably all track day veterans, so I'll also post in the BMW section (if that's ok mods?)

Me as well at Brands... (M135i). You guys are hopefully novices. The last time I tracked in my mk2 mr2 I'd got the weight ratio wrong with all the CF and span too much. Let it be a lesson for the youth that I was those many years ago, there is such a thing as too much carbon weight saving and power combined (in the hands of a novice like me)

What a great day! Nice to meet some of you. Track tuition was brilliant and instructor really pushed me through the corners. Didn't pay attention to my fuel gauge for a while and then heard that ping😄 see you next time - jana (orange 1M)
I was in the white M3 - great to meet everyone else! Made it home safely despite the pretty bald rear tyres (which resulted in lots of sideways action that some may have seen
). See you on FB Jana!e36er, added you to mates list.
The M135i looked really nice.
Hope everyone got back safe.

I got back safe... eventually.
Great vid. Really shows how much quicker the e92 is, didn't think there was that much in it. Did you time any laps?
Where are you going next?
Cheers, my lap times would be poor for this particular day as my rear tyres were completely shot. I think the video below would be a better one for lap times. I haven't timed it but I'm sure a rough estimate could be gained from a stopwatch and watching the video. Nice E46 btw.Great vid. Still not sure about Brands, but I'm definitely going for Snetterton and Cadwell.
Which AST coilovers do you have? Any other mods apart from your suspension and PF brakes?

I've decided against Brands, I stay in Notts during the week and it's just too far to travel. I'm definitely up for Cadwell, but I want to do Silverstone and/or Donington in a month or so.
The only other mods are spacers, braided hoses and Motul RBF 600 fluid, don't think I'll do anything else. I'm tempted to get a set of 18s and R888s though.

Sounds good, will contact you when I'm due for the next track day. Oh, I did some rough timing with iPhone and my previous Bedford SW circuit lap times were between 2:09 to 2:10, but it was over 2:11 yesterday - no mods apart from brake pads. The only other mods are spacers, braided hoses and Motul RBF 600 fluid, don't think I'll do anything else. Brilliant time! Shows what the right chassis mods and ability to utilise them really can do. Happy to leave mine oem for now as I need the compromise for compliance for fast driving over bumpy roads. Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
