I am going to be putting a deposit down on this Z4M in the morning. I have been told the car is in excellent condition throughout with no issues at all. It has had 2 new rear tyres and the fronts are showing very little wear. It has a full service history Inc the running in service. The computer is showing that the next service due is in 11500 miles and is an Insp. 1. I am currently working in Brazil so I am unable to go view the car. I also live in Aberdeen so it is going to be a fair trek.

This is the car in question: http://www.jamespaul.co.uk/mobi/vehicle-details.as...

I will be paying cash, and have asked what their best deal is. £150 off... Surely they must be able to do better than that? Is it worth asking for a full tank of fuel and 6 months road tax thrown in? Any suggestions on negotiating a better deal out of them?

Fantastic car, i had one and wish i still did, on sunny days they are the most fun!

I would not worry about the price, with what we do for a living do you care that much to miss it?

Looks a great car and red really suits it (was used in the brochures).

Pop over to the Z4 forums once you get it - we are a friendly bunch smile

A car is only worth what the buyer will pay. Haggle and offer them 10% less in cash and they will bite your hand off.

Correct. Best I could get was 1% discount and a full tank of fuel. Going to try and get a set of mats or something out of them still. Either way, I am happy to pay the price as the car is the exact spec/colour that I was looking for and appears to be a great example.

I will be picking the car up or having it delivered when I return home in 2-3 weeks. It is going to be a long wait.

looks a good example - just make sure you check the service history and that it has had the 1200 mile running in service on time...

Is 16k really cracking value for a Z4MR?

Agreed!

But if its the car for you and its in good nick then nothing anyone says should deter you.

I did think the market was more like 14k for these even from a dealership

All depends on condition and mileage. Don't even think the dealers have many good examples now. Folk must be mad to sell them at that price. Great wknd car and a rare sight!!

Maybe a bit late ??

But 29 k miles and 5.5 yrs old would be good to see the actual service cycle its had... since they are saying 11.5k to Insp 1...? Maybe previous owner just put it in every 12 months and BMW did next service irrespective of how many miles service indicator still showed...?

But If I were buying I'd like to see mileage verification and invoices on that.

Mine is AUC 04/06 and has now done 75K FBMWSH and had the following

1200 mile M service
~12k oil service
22k Insp I
35k Oil service
47 k Insp II
59k Oil service
72k Insp I.

I've just moved from a Z4M to an M3...it's leagues better in every area!! If you can justify an extra 7-8k, I'd definitely go for it. I'm based in Aberdeen if you want a squint around mine.

Not too late, I'm still stuck in Brazil.

I have emailed requesting the details and dates of the service history so I will see what they come back with. They told me it's last service was an Insp. I at a BMW indy.

Ali - I have a mate who went exactly the same way. Unfortunately I cannot justify the extra cost at the moment. I think the Z4M should be a good introduction into M/// cars.

Z4m and m3 completely different cars. Such an easy comment to write that one is better than the other. Had several of both and I would rate the Z4m as the more fun better event car. But that's just my opinion.

And if you decide in a year you want to change, I bet you the Z4m will have held its price better!!

Agree with what you say but wish the holding money thing had been true in my case frown
