I've had my E46 M3 (not on a public road I may add) indicating just over 160mph on the dial and 154mph on the gps. I thought these were limited o 155??? As far as I am aware the car hasn't been messed with in any way to remove the limiter.
The speedo is inaccurate by sound 5% to 10% and will therefore read high. I.e. up to around 170mh for a true 155mph speed..Your car sounds spot on, if the cars are electronically limited to 155mph and your was reading 154mph on GPS then that is spot on.
For £30 you can get the car recoded to remove the electronic limiter which means the car should then reach just short of 180mph on your GPS device

Interesting re the GPS 180mph. Have you witnessed this? Mine was delimited from the factory, so hoping to test it out soon and see what it'll hit, but even with a little bit less weight, a few extra horses and the ram-effect I was thinking I'd be happy getting near 175Your car sounds spot on, if the cars are electronically limited to 155mph and your was reading 154mph on GPS then that is spot on.

Indicated off the clock worked out being 274km/h on GPS with my CSL on Cup tyres. Different tyres may have a different rolling radius, and thus speed.

So looks like 180MPH is possible in a delimited CSL then Indicated off the clock worked out being 274km/h on GPS with my CSL on Cup tyres. Different tyres may have a different rolling radius, and thus speed.

You can do yourself with a copy of BMWFlash for $20. You can also do a few other tweaks like enable dyno mode, enable shift lights on a manual, rev limit change, CSL oil temp lights etc.

No. as I said 300km/h / 186mph on the dash is 274km/h which translates to 170mph.
that was on a delimited CSL.. it didn't have anything really more to give at the point I lifted off.
did that run many times, when I lived in holland, as it was part of my near weekly commute to the nürburgring (visited there 22 times in 2007).
People get excited because the speedo is over reading a lot - but its only really 10% out at 170mph, which isn't too bad.

Right, didn't realise that was delimited too, as thought there was more to give on the rev-counter in the vid. So it seems anything over 170mph GPS will be doing well thenthat was on a delimited CSL.. it didn't have anything really more to give at the point I lifted off.
