Just had the renewal through for my E36 M3 and its gone up nearly £350 to £1200 per annum. Its with Tesco, I wouldnt mind but I have not had any accidents, claims or points ever with nine years no claims but it has still increased by 25%. Which company do you insure with or recommend, its my daily car as well if that makes a difference.

Everyone's circumstances are different and a recommendation from me would likely not result in a favourable quote for you.

My only advice would be to use the comparison sites (all of them) and find the best price for the level of cover/service you want.

For me, I tend to flip between Liverpool Victoria and one of the Admiral/Bell group.

Can you not get them on the blower and haggle? Have done this many times before, and only recently managed to get the increased quote down below what I paid the previous year. I'm no expert on insurance, but my feeling is that they all try it on at renewal time, hoping that people will just accept it. Can't imagine they actually want to lose your business though

Believe it or not I rang them and they would only reduce the price if I used their Tesco club card! Bit annoyed with them to be fair as i have used them for the last nine years without a claim etc. I get the impression they dont want to insure this type of car unless you agree to pay through the nose, I have only had the M3 with them for ten weeks after my fiesta.

my M3 went from something like 800 to 1200 from year 1 to year 2.

Again no crashes, points, and a million years no claims bonus.

SO I left BMW insurance and went to AXA - it was 600............

I reduced mine by 45% through 1st Central last year - www.1stcentralinsurance.com. Worth a go - about £570 for me.

I have just insured my new Z4M through Elephant. 23 years old, 2 years NCB, 1 at fault claim against me and I was pleasantly surprised it only came to £573 fully comp with £250 excess.

I have always found Admiral/Elephant to offer the cheapest insurance.

AVIVA are pretty good, especially if you have two cars (wife, partner etc.). My E92 M3 insurance actually went down a few quid this year to around £520 and I had an accident (in another car - my wife's in Feb). I found them pretty competitive.

I don't see what the issue is. Every renewal quote I've ever had has been more than the last year's premium. If you shop around you'll find something cheaper and more often than not your current insurer will match it anyway. They just try their luck and hope that you'll renew without checking. It's a tax on laziness wink

Try Sky insurance. Or maybe greenlight who I would have gone with had I had the chance as they were really helpful and reasonable
