I'm having an E46 M3 built into a track car - already purchased the donor car and starting the build soon.

Quick question if anyone can help. What lightweight door cards can be purchased / used to replace the (nasty) grey leather standard items?

Thanks
Cuda

Get a sheet of something light and cut it to size - fake carbon fibre will do it.

Failing that, I just used strips of duct tape in my M3 to make doorcards - doubt you'll get lighter than that!

The standard doors are very heavy - at a guess a good 25kg each! Geoff Steel do some carbon replacement doors with Perspex which are 3kg each (or thereabouts) giving you an instant 44kg saving, which is huge!

Also the standard exhaust is stupidly heavy - an aftermarket system will give a huge weight saving.
