M3 Wheel damage after tyre change

Had 4 new Michelin Pilot Sport tyres fitted in the depths of winter on my E90 M3. Two fronts by Kwik Fit in Three Bridges and two rears by Kwik Fit in Tonbridge. When they were fitted the car was filthy and covered in salt and although I checked the wheels afterwards I didn't see any signs of damage.
Now that the sun is out I've cleaned the car and have noticed that all four wheels have been marked by what I assume to be the machine that grips the wheel while the tyre is changed. Basically the paint/lacquer has been scraped off in multiple places which although not serious is very annoying on wheels which were previously unmarked.
I don't know if anyone else has suffered similar damage but be warned before having tyres changed and check for damage very carefully afterwards!

I've suffered this too.
Seeing as you're in Kent I would suggest using Lepsons. http://www.lepsonstyres.co.uk/
They are excellent alloy wheel refurbishers and also do tyres as well. Will respect your wheels when changing tyres.
May even do you a deal if you go for a refurb when next changing tyres?

Sorry to hear this, so irritating.
Depths of winter etc makes it tricky obviously but I 'supervise' when anyone changes my tyres.
Had mine done today, I make sure the wheels are spotless beforehand and speak to the person doing the work, stressing the wheels are perfect and need to stay that way (or they die).

Luckily chap above was a bit of a car enthusiast anyway, so no worries.
And Lepsons are brilliant if you need a refurb, no matter how difficult. Couriering them there is really cheap too...and they do tyres at competitive prices.

Totally agree re: Lepsons. They refurbed my E46 19 inch OEM alloys and fitted tyres without marking them so I took it back there from Cambridge (to Kent) when I needed new rears. All 4 need doing soon so I'll go back to them just to preserve the wheels. Thier prices are not much different to the volume tyre places and they are defo much more careful.
