I changed my brakes disks and pads during the week. All went fine apart from the front drivers side disk. The two screws that hold the disk onto the hub were seized solid and the head rounded on them both. So I had to drill them out but due to the type of screw I could only get the heads off the screw. I got the disk off but the main body of the screws are still in the hub. So I put the new disk on but obviously was unable to secure the disk to hub.

So my question, it should be okay as is wont it? The disk is still held firmly in place by the calipers and obviously the wheel.

Agreed, it should be OK.

I'm surprised the screws did not free up from the heat of the drilling. Did you try twisting the stubs with a vise-grips after you took the disc off?

100% fine. All they really do is hold the disk in place when the wheel is off.

There was no stub unfortunately. The head came off pretty cleanly leaving a nice hollow body inside the threads. I think they will need retapped in all honestly. A job for the future I guess.

Screws are only here to aid holding the disc on during fitting, so it's more of an assembly aid than anything else worth worrying about. They can be a pain to get out tho, basically you get one attempt at getting it right or it's a rounded off head.
