E46 m3 pricing
Discussion
So I have an itch, I want a new car and am looking at these daily.
I just love the shape and think they look a little more special than the e9x series m3.
I have an 2006 car at the moment so do really want to go older than 2005. Can you advise what is a good price to pay for these as they seem to range between 9 and 17k and unfortunately it's the more expensive ones I keep looking at
Budget for either is available, just don't want to go for one and then find its actually worth a lot less?

They start at 6. Buy on condition. Get a user guide from m3 cutters.I just love the shape and think they look a little more special than the e9x series m3.

If you don't know what you're doing, get an independent. I'd try find one with subframe inspection and repair
So would you go for a high priced e46 or e92
These are ones I'm considering any comments or preference to one or the other

E46 M3s vary from £6k to £40k
Though most are £6k to £17k
Get professional inspection before purchase by BMW Dealer
Go through service history
Check has all correct stamps and correct invoices
Check with BMW UK history of vehicle
Check any recalls are done
Check 1200 mile service is done
Check paint and panel gaps etc
Think about whether you want Coupe or Convertible and Manual or SMGII ?
Buy on condition is main thing
Good luck :-)

Mileage. As long as it is backed up by service history you wont tell between 100,000 and 50,000.
But having said that people do look at mileage so don't pay over the odds...
M3 pricing seems all over the shop but for me service history was the main thing as there are always big bills lurking.

I will just put this here for u :-)

Also search for ones with low owners and low mileage and standard :-)
Lovely car, what sort of mileage has it done? Brings back fond memories as it's pretty much a dead ringer for my old CS (manual, carbon black with black leather). Still miss mine and for anyone looking for an E46 M3 I'd say the CS is a great choice if you can find a good one!

Tyres,
Inspection servicing,
Brakes.
These are your 3 biggys, everything alse in comparable to a 330 maybe arround 1/3 more expensive.
Take the previous owner into very carefull consideration, just as much as the car, if you get my drift?
ETA:
Save some money back for the inevitable "put it right jobs" that are the underlying reason why its for sale.

This I bought at 32000 miles. Now has 34800 miles. I am the third owner. Is the only M3 CS on a 56 Plate :-)161BMW said:

Yes, must be one of the last; only downside is probably higher road tax if it was registered after March 2006! Definitely a car worth cherishing IMO; probably not many E46 M3's with that sort of mileage and fewer still when you move to the CS. Suspect it's one of those rare machines where you've the potential for depreciation-free motoring - an added bonus when you've already got a car that's terrific to drive!JNW1 said:

Thank you very much yes I have wanted one for a very long time. I have a letter confirming from BMW UK is the last one registered in the UK. Has FBMWSH. I also managed to get a copy of the original sales invoice as was supplied new by BMW Park Lane :-)
I'm not saying that yours isnt the last CS, but Nick Johnson has an 06 plate CS for sale (I only recall it as I am watching the E46 market, in particular the CS's that come up for sale)

Apparently mine is last one registered in UK so the only one on 56 Plate according to BMW UK. But third to last one produced for UK according to BMW M Registry website.
