Tracker for M5
Discussion
I am going to get a tracker fitted to my new M5 and BMW only allow a Trackstar tracker to be fitted pre collection - this is essentially to avoid the blame game for any damage to the car prior to collection as well as making sure the system is compatible with the on board computers.
I have previously used Tracker and found them to be reasonably priced - Trackstar is more expensive - but my question is, does anyone have anything good/bad to say about the Trackstar system? I'd be going for the Cat 5 version.
Cheers

Was called a few months back at 3 am to say they had registered an unauthorised start and movement of my M5, ran onto drive to see car still there, turned out they still had my name registered for my old E60 M5 as well, felt sorry for poor sod who owns car now, anyway it reassured me that the tracking system was working on this occasion, equally have heard many stories where tracker search comes up blank as well, remember a letter in bmw car mag where some poor guy had his X5M stolen and tracker was no help at all, no vehicle location or alert that car had been moved etc...
I am going with Tracker Locate. Use bmw 7 day free insurance no need for a tracker in that 7 days then gett the tracker fitted. I am going with the tracker system as if has free interest locator. The BMW one you need to pay to use the net.
Gat 5 is a pain in the RS having to Carry a key fob everywhere you go. I av had 2 and hate them
